In the aftermath of heavy explosions in ammunition depots in Brazzaville, B-FAST deployed to offer medical assistance.

On 4 March 2012, various heavy explosions in ammunition depots in Brazzaville, the capital of the Republic of Congo, killed many people and caused severe damage to the infrastructure. At the request of the government of the Republic of Congo, Belgium sent out a mission with a team of 12 volunteers from 6 March to 12 March 2012.

The B-FAST team was made up of doctors and nurses in order to reinforce the local hospital capacity. Moreover, medical relief supplies for the treatment of burns and of medical traumas were delivered by the FPS Public Health. The Ministry of Defence provided the air transport.
