Floodings in Montenegro
Belgium decided to send a B-FAST team to Montenegro following a request for relief issued by the local government. During this period, the Balkans were hit by heavy rainfall and severe floodings. In Montenegro, more than 8,500 people had to be evacuated.
Two seconded members of the Civilian Protection stayed five days in Montenegro in order to activate 10 immersion pumps, namely in the capital of Podgorica and the city of Viksic. The Belgian government donated the pumps to Montenegro.
