Overview of B-FAST operations in 2003

In March 2003, B-FAST sent a team of 67 staff among which a number of USAR teams with search dogs to Algeria in order to assist the local authorities after the severe earthquake. A medical module was also deployed. B-FAST furthermore provided generators and 500 tents through the Belgian Red Cross.

In December 2003, the city of Bam in Iran was hit by a massive earthquake. B-FAST sent a team of medical experts and provided aid in the form of field hospital, tents and blankets.


In the same month, B-FAST also deployed a team of 21 staff equipped with pumps and tank vehicles to help France fight floods.
