In January 2009, B-FAST evacuated a number of Palestinian children who got heavily injured during violent confrontations in the south of the Gaza Strip. They were transferred to Belgium for medical care. At the same time, medical equipment was delivered to Jordan for the Palestinian refugees.
In October 2009, a B-FAST team was deployed to provide relief in the aftermath of the severe earthquake that struck Pandang in Sumatra (Indonesia). The team accompanied the transport of supplies and made sure that the two water treatment stations, the 4,000 jerrycans and the medical emergency kits were handed over to an organisation operating locally.
